Forum Title: Skim Coating Question
I started skim coating a room today it was going well until I hit the last wall. On that wall I started bubbling up. I took a blade to dig in to see what the problem was. Wall paper under finishing mud and painted over. I reamed out the areas that I had already done. Ran out and got some oil based primer and covered that wall with it. Now, can I skim over the oil prime or do I need to do it again with a superior adhesion latex before applying the skim coating? I am suspecting the later.

You'll be fine to skim coat it. The only time oil can be a paint is if its glossy but then you'd just need to degloss it or sand it. But as primer is flat you should have no problems with it.
